The lateral meniscus is one of the two semicircular cartilaginous bands that act as shock absorbers in the knee.
Synonyms: External semi-lunar fibrocartilage
Symptoms: Swelling, instability of knee, clicking sound when moving knee.
Conditions: Tears, degeneration, fraying
